Early-stage venture fund Betaworks has announced the latest 10 companies to rise from its prestigious Camp program, a twice-yearly 13-week residency program launched in 2016 that has given way to names such as Hugging Face and Grey's Social.
The theme of this year's camp is interfaces, as well as companies designing products that impact the way users experience AI. (Previous camp themes focused on application layers and agents). Applications opened in June, camp began in August, and DemoDay was November 4th.
The companies participating in the 13th BetaWorks Camp are:
Nora — A browser extension that tracks shopping habits, founded by Sid Banothu.
Primitive — A web app that allows users to use voice to generate ideas that the platform converts into lists of tasks and to-dos. Founded by Kasey Klimes, the product can also be linked with other productivity tools like Notion and Calendar.
Patina — Founded by Sean Raspet and Laura Sisson, the company works on olfactory technology that creates “scent pictures” through a combination of protein folding, scent receptors, and graph neural networks.
My Place (written by Orange) — A platform founded by Helen Huang that allows users to play games that realistically simulate human daily life.

Putty (no website yet) — The company is still operating in secrecy, but Betaworks said it wants to work with founder Kevin Chan. That's because he's “deeply involved in concepts” that the company focuses on, such as “memory systems, ambient interfaces,” and “technology that adapts to a more sporadic lifestyle.”
Telepath — An app-free, AI-built computer founded by Stephen Hood, Josh Whiting, and Rupert Manfredi.
Feather — A digital assistant that helps you create automated workflows for tedious tasks like finding an apartment. Founded by ShaoBo Zhang and Marco Yu.
Nubrain — Founded by Priyanka Jain and Ingo Marquardt, this company creates EEG data (a test used to record the brain's electrical activity) that helps translate human thoughts into speech, text, and images.
Presq — Founded by Adam Saleh, Steve Burstyn, and Mikey Robins, this platform allows influencers to upload data and create prompt options that allow them to create manufacturable footwear. The company plans to soon expand to other product areas such as eyeglasses and household goods.
Intension — Founded by Conor Sanchez O'Shea and Gabriel Duemichen, this company helps people stay focused while working on their desktop by keeping distractions out of sight. Track your users' attention and plan their workflow habits while working on your desktop.
