YouTube TV has announced that its “Multi-View” feature, which lets you watch four streams simultaneously, is now available on Android smartphones and tablets. The Android release comes two months after YouTube TV rolled out the feature to iPhone and iPad.
First introduced in March 2023, the feature is aimed at sports viewers who want to follow multiple live matches at once without having to change channels frequently.
If you want to start multi-view streams on your Android smartphone or tablet, you'll need to make sure you've updated the YouTube TV app to the latest version. From there, you should see options in the “Recommended for you” or “Watch in multiple views” line.
YouTube TV now lets you customize multiview a little more, but you still can't select four channels to watch together. Google says in his post about X: [it’s] At this time, we only share selected multi-view streams from YouTube TV. [it’s] We are working on increasing flexibility and introducing more options in the future. ”
YouTube TV isn't the only streaming service to introduce multi-view functionality in the past year. Apple TV introduced multi-view functionality for sports fans in May 2023.
