To encourage users to spend more time on the platform and increase engagement, TikTok is testing out continuous playback similar to what's seen on Snapchat.
TikTok confirmed that it is testing the feature but did not issue a statement on it. The company said it is experimenting with streaks in limited markets and with select users.
The rules for getting a streak are simple: you need to send a direct message to someone for at least three consecutive days. Once you do, a streak badge will appear in your chat, along with the number of days you've posted in a streak. Over the past few days, several users have taken to social media to report that the streak feature has been spotted on the TikTok app.
A streak ends if neither user sends a message in chat within 24 hours of the last message. When a streak is about to end, TikTok will prompt users to continue the streak.
Users can:[設定]>[プライバシー]>[通知]>[連続記録設定]You can turn off these notifications from the menu, which also has an option to turn off in-app streak notifications.
Historically, Snapchat streaks have been a status symbol between friends, proving how close you are and how frequently you interact with each other. TikTok is hoping to evoke a similar feeling with its own take on streaks.
Snap recognized this fact last year and introduced a paid feature that lets users pause a streak, and has since added the ability to restore a streak.
