Google has been heavy on consumer hardware launches in August. Last week, the company unveiled the long-awaited new Nest Thermostat and the Google TV Streamer, which replaces its 11-year-old Chromecast line. And today at Made by Google 2024, the software giant refreshed its Pixel line, along with a slew of new smartphones and a host of Gemini AI announcements. You can find the details here.
Previous Made by Google events were held in October on the East Coast, and this one was held at the company's Mountain View headquarters and began today, August 13, at 10am PST/1pm ET.
As always, the easiest way to tune in is via Google's own livestream, which coincidentally has a full archive of the event's coverage embedded below.

Alongside announcing new home devices and upgrades to Google Assistant that will remain on Home and Nest devices amid the rise of Gemini, the company also unveiled two new mobile devices, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Fold, leaving no doubt that the company's generative AI platform will take center stage with the tagline “Phones built for the Gemini era.”
The event should see more of Android 15. The mobile operating system is expected to debut on the Pixel 9 series alongside upgraded in-house processors. Updated versions of the Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds Pro are also rumored to be released.
