Former Product Hunt CEO Josh Buckley has made his fourth $250 million investment in his venture capital firm Buckley Ventures, according to regulatory filings. We are aiming to raise funds.
Buckley's ambitions for this fund are significantly lower than for his previous funds. He tried to raise a third $500 million fund in February 2022, just as the VC world was in a bear market. He raised $337 million for it, according to PitchBook data.
Amid the funding frenzy that peaked in 2021, Buckley joined the likes of Lachy Groom in seeking better terms than traditional venture capital to land coveted startup deals. He became known as one of the independent venture capitalists willing to offer high prices to startup companies.
Some of Buckley's high-profile bets didn't pan out, like Pakistani logistics startup Airlift, which closed in 2022, about a year after Buckley co-led an $85 million Series B. Ta. Buckley did not respond to a request for comment.
