Google on Thursday released a dedicated app for its AI-powered assistant Gemini on iOS worldwide. Until now, iOS users had to use the Google app or mobile web to chat with AI technology.
The new Gemini iOS app supports text-based prompts in 35 languages. Additionally, through the Gemini Live feature, users can download Gemini in 12 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, Turkish, and Vietnamese. You can have a conversation with Google said it aims to introduce support for additional languages in the near future.
While some of Gemini's other features (like requesting recipe suggestions or asking for study help) were already available through the Google app and mobile web, Gemini Live brings new features to the native iOS app. Added.

App users can also generate images through Google's Imagen 3 model. The company is allowing Gemini Advanced, Business and Enterprise users to create images of people again, after suspending the feature for several months following criticism over models producing historically inaccurate photos. It started in August.
Users can also use the extension to ask Gemini about information related to other Google accounts they may have, such as Gmail, Maps, YouTune, and Calendar.

Google released the Gemini Android app in February. It was first released in the United States and later in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The company has gradually added support for Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese. Google also rolled out the Gemini app, which supports nine local languages by June, to other South Asian countries such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Notably, Apple's Siri and ChatGPT integration is now live in iOS 18.2 public beta, and the feature will be available to all users in the coming weeks. Earlier this year, Apple announced at the Worldwide Developer Conference its plans to integrate Google Gemini with Apple Intelligence in the future.
“In the future, we're looking forward to integration with other models, including Google Gemini, for example,” Apple senior vice president Craig Federighi said in a conversation during the event. Google's launch of Gemini on iOS is likely the first step in that direction.
