Meta is introducing new features to its messaging app, Messenger, including AI-powered noise suppression.
Messenger offers HD video calling and audio separation, both of which can be enabled from the call settings menu. According to Meta, HD calling is now the default for calls over Wi-Fi and an option for calls over mobile.

Messenger also now allows you to leave audio or video voice messages, similar to digital voicemail, when a contact is unavailable. If the other party doesn't answer the phone, try a new call.[メッセージを録音]You can send audio or video recordings with the tap of a button.
There's new Siri integration. On iOS, you can ask Siri to help you make a call or send a message by asking something like “Hey Siri, message Cassandra in Messenger” and dictating the message.

Finally, Meta announced AI backgrounds for video calls, which we previewed earlier this year. Mehta said users will soon be able to create AI-generated backgrounds during a Messenger video call by tapping the “Effects” icon in the sidebar and selecting “Background.”
The Messenger update comes after Meta rolled out new community features for the app, integrated the Meta AI chatbot into Messenger's search bar, and added tools for sharing large files. Towards the end of last year, Meta also made end-to-end encryption the default for Messenger conversations.
