It's officially that time of year when music streaming services start offering users the chance to reflect on their music listening habits for the year. YouTube Music announced Monday that users can now access the 2024 Music Recap to get personalized stats on the year's top artists, songs, moods, genres, and more.
The 2024 Music Overview can be accessed on YouTube and the YouTube Music app. You'll see a banner prompting you to check your summary, but if not, go to your profile, select the “Summary” option, and tap “Get Summary.”
This year's YouTube Music Recap includes animated cards similar to those featured in Spotify's Wrapped feature. This feature popularized the annual review format later adopted by services like YouTube Music and Apple Music.

While past YouTube Music summaries used static images, this year's summaries offer more audiovisual experiences that move to the rhythm of top songs.
YouTube Music is also introducing three new statistics that allow users to further explore their listening habits. See a personalized overview of your music preferences over the past year. For example, YouTube Music might note that your viewing habits this year have been “moody” or “excited.”
Plus, see a timeline highlighting the year's key moments. For example, you might find out that “January was a great month with Charli XCX” or “March was happy in every sense of the word, at least musically.”
YouTube Music assigns alter egos based on popular songs and artists, such as “The Hometown Hero,” “The Life of the Party,” and “The Hopeless Romantic.”

Additionally, this year's YouTube Music Recap includes podcast highlights that outline the year's top podcasts and top five.
Spotify and Apple Music are expected to release their yearly reviews in the coming weeks.
