The most important promise of companies working on AI-powered productivity tools is to build solutions that perform tasks on behalf of users. Some of the early demos we've seen don't quite live up to these promises.
A to-do list app called Twos approaches this problem differently. When you add a task, possible related actions may be suggested. Examples include adding a link to your site or helping you write text to complete a task. The purpose is to recommend sites and apps to complete tasks.
To use the AI-powered suggestions feature, simply write down a task as you normally would, and then see if the app's AI model can input a suggestion. For example, if you type “buy paper napkins,” we'll suggest links to Amazon, Walmart, and eBay that include paper napkins as a search term.
When you write about a birthday or anniversary, the app will prompt you to add a reminder to your calendar, text the person, or buy a gift card.

The app currently works with Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Instacart, Expedia, Google Search, Google Maps, Google Flights, Uber Eats, Contacts, Calling, Messaging apps, Email, IMDb, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, ZocDoc, and more. We have 27 integrations with our apps. , Ticketmaster, StubHub. These cover a wide range of use cases, including shopping, restaurants, food, music, movies, reminders, and events.
While this feature works well in most cases, it currently suggests US-centric services for categories such as shopping, ticket buying, and food delivery. The company will need to add better localization for people outside the country.

The challenge for Twos is to make sure the AI functionality works so that people can use it repeatedly. Only then will the app be able to attract users who use apps like Apple Notes and encourage them to migrate to Twos.
Twos was founded in 2021 by former Google engineers Parker Klein and Joe Steilberg. The app currently has over 25,000 active users. It's available on the web, Android, and iOS, and it's free to use. Users can optionally enable “Plus” features to add tags and hyperlinks, create custom home screens, take advantage of automatic sorting features, and use templates. Each feature is a one-time purchase and currently costs $2 per feature.
Last year, the startup also introduced an AI assistant to help with list creation. If you're wondering what else is out there, other apps like Hyperist utilize AI models to help people create recommendation lists.
