LambdaTest, a cloud-based software testing platform, has raised $38 million in a Series D funding round, aiming to expand its presence in existing markets and improve its AI capabilities.
The Series D was led by Avatar Ventures with participation from Qualcomm Ventures. This brings LambdaTest's total funding to $108 million.
LambdaTest provides the infrastructure that allows enterprises to test applications on over 5,000 browser and operating system combinations. Instead of setting up and maintaining expensive test suites, companies can use LambdaTest's cloud platform to ensure that their software works as intended in a variety of environments. LambdaTest also maintains a lab with thousands of devices for testing.
The investment comes as software testing faces increasing pressure from the rise of AI-generated code. A LambdaTest survey of more than 1,600 enterprise teams found that only 23% of test bandwidth is spent on test creation and planning, fixing broken tests, triaging and debugging, and setting up test environments. Significant time is spent on maintenance and operational tasks such as
The startup recently launched its KaneAI platform, which it describes as an “AI Native QA Agent-as-a-Service,” and aims to automate many of those tedious testing tasks. LambdaTest says the system can reduce manual effort in test script generation by 40% to 70%.
Asad Khan, CEO and co-founder of LambdaTest, said: “KaneAI is more than just a tool. It's an innovative approach to QA that helps teams test smarter and faster with less manual work.” “Based on LambdaTest's cloud-based platform, This gives us an advantage in delivering this solution at scale.”
The company also claims that the HyperExecute platform allows teams to run tests up to 70% faster than traditional cloud grids, with 2.5x higher test resolution and 60% faster error detection.
The company has also developed features such as unstable test identification, which PWC reports has reduced error reporting and analysis time by 40%. LambdaTest says its test intelligence system provides automatic error classification and smart analytics, as well as automatic retrying of failed tests and test reordering for quick feedback.
“As AI applications in the cloud and on devices become more pervasive, to accelerate release cycles and improve the efficiency of CI/CD pipelines, AI “Continuous testing with automated automation is essential.” Ventures. “LambdaTest's comprehensive suite of products is transforming software quality assurance with AI-driven autonomous test systems, and we're excited to support them on their journey.”
The startup, which competes with companies like BrowserStack and SauceLabs, plans to use the new capital to go deeper into existing markets and expand its technology stack.
“Asad and team are a force of nature to be reckoned with, disrupting entire markets in a short period of time,” Nishant Rao, founding partner at Avatar Ventures, said in a statement. “From creating the first AI-native, no-code QA solution to launching the only true e2e enterprise-grade secure test orchestration platform, they have completely changed the game.”
LambdaTest, which counts Premji Invest, Peak XV Partners, and Blume Ventures as backers, serves more than 15,000 customers, including Fortune 500 and G2000 companies across financial services, insurance, travel, retail, and healthcare. It says that there is. The company says users have run more than 1.2 billion tests on the platform since its launch in 2017.
