Social network Bluesky announced over Christmas that it is testing a trending topic view. Trending topics are visible to users around the world on both the social network's desktop and mobile apps.
On desktop, you'll see trending topics in the right sidebar, and on mobile apps, you can tap the search button to explore topics.

Bluesky makes sure that content you don't want to see doesn't appear in trending topics. Muted words carry over, so words and phrases in your muted list won't appear in trending topics.
The social network, which currently has more than 25 million users, says this is just the first version of the feature and plans to improve it further.
Although Bluesky just introduced the Trending Topics feature, third-party Bluesky clients such as Greysky have already implemented this feature last year.
Bluesky rival Threads began rolling out trending topics to all users in the US in March and began testing the feature in Japan in October.
