Pawport, a Phoenix-based pet tech startup, returned to CES 2025 to announce an upgraded smart pet door with an additional exterior door for added security.
If you're tired of bugs, or worse, raccoons and other critters sneaking into your home through traditional pet doors, Pawport may be the solution. First announced at last year's CES, this smart pet door system is made from thick, powder-coated steel and aluminum and features two heavy-duty deadbolts that withstand inclement weather and keep out unwanted animals. Masu.
Thanks to tracker tags and motion sensing technology, the door automatically opens when your pet approaches. Additionally, there's a companion app that lets you control your door remotely, schedule door opening and closing, and issue voice commands via Alexa, Siri, or Google.

The new model has a small tunnel connecting the inside and outside doors for enhanced security. Compared to other pet doors on the market, PawPort is designed to be one of the safest options, especially in areas like California where coyote attacks are on the rise. A coyote reportedly broke into a home through a dog door this summer, injuring a man and his Chihuahua.
For added safety, the smart pet door has a sensitivity gauge that prevents the door from closing when your pet enters or exits your home. There is also an option to disable the top panel controls. This prevents children from pressing the button to open the Pawport and crawl inside. Even in the event of a power outage, Pawport's rechargeable battery pack ensures that the door operates reliably, so your pet is never trapped indoors or outdoors.
Pawport starts at $500 and is expected to be available in early 2025.
