Google is testing a new “Daily Listen” feature that automatically generates podcasts based on your Discover feed. The company confirmed to TechCrunch that Daily Listen is a personalized, AI-powered audio experience designed to keep you updated on the topics you care about.
The feature is currently rolling out in the Google app on Android and iOS, and will be available to users in the US who opt-in to the company's Search Labs experiment.
With Daily Listen, you can get up to 5-minute podcast episodes that provide summaries of stories and topics that interest you. The podcast also includes links to related stories that you can click to learn more. Topics.

Since Daily Listen is rooted in Discover, Google says the topics you follow in Search and Discover in the Google app will help you get a more personalized audio experience.
Google also notes that Daily Listen is similar to NotebookLM's audio summary feature, which uses an AI virtual host to generate podcasts based on information you share with the app, such as course readings or legal summaries. Daily Listen lets you easily summarize what you need to know based on your personal interests.
If you have access to this feature, you'll see a new Daily Listen section on your home screen when you open the Google app. The card displays a play button that indicates the length of the podcast and allows you to enter the audio experience.
Once you open this feature, you can start listening to the podcast with rolling transcription. Scroll down to see Related Articles, where you can explore topics of interest more deeply.
