Openvibe's clever apps that integrate multiple open social networks, including Bluesky, Mastodon, NOSTR, and Swreet, have supported future development. The company announced on Tuesday that it has received a $ 800,000 external investment in a round led by Czech Founders VC, including support from WordPress.com and Tumblr Parent Automattic and Tensor Ventures.
JANÅ¡IROKY, a former Czech founder VC and a former CTO of Mews, invested separately from his company.
Openvibe, which was released in 2024, initially supported three of the more prominent open -social networks. These all work using different protocols. Mastodon uses ActivityPub, Bluesky is executed in the AT protocol, and noSTR power many third -party apps. Openvibe later added Instagram thread support. The app was further integrated with ActivityPub and was opened to the developer community.

As CEO's Matej Svancer explained at the time, the idea behind his app was to provide users a more friendly and easy -to -use gateway to the open social web. Because the protocols used by these networks are different, it may be difficult for new entrants who need to switch apps or limit engagement to priority platforms.
However, Openvibe can cross -post not only on a timeline that combines connections with friends of all services, but also on multiple networks at once.
With additional capital, SVANCER is planning to accelerate product development, expand OpenVibe's user base, work on integration with other social platforms, and improve user interfaces.

In addition, investment in Automattic is worth noting. This is worth noting because the company supports a project in the open source field, especially a project designed to compete with Big Tech. (Unfortunately, Matt Mullenweg, an Automatic CEO and a co -author of WordPress, has created many divisions and dramas in the WordPress community over the past few months.
Nevertheless, OpenVibe's funding has indicated that there is an appetite among investors to support apps and services that use new open social protocols. Recently, celebrity investors and entrepreneurs Mark Cuban have called for a video app built in the protocol Bluesky. Bluesky also raised funds and recently raised $ 15 million in Series A last fall.
OpenVibe is available as a free application for iOS and Android, but will introduce a subscription plan to generate revenue later.
