The Philadelphia Eagles star, running through Saquon Berkley, will not only become an investor in the Fintech startup ramp, but also the star of the company's first Super Bowl commercial.
Interestingly, it was Berkley who reached out to Lamp about investment.
According to RAMP CEO and co-founder Eric Glyman, Barkley reached out after reading Peter Thiel's book, 1 from scratch. According to Glyman, Barkley chose the lamp after some investors' friends gave it to a “strong” recommendation.
In a blog post posted on Lamp's website on February 6th, Barkley was quoted as: So I invested in the lamp. I saw firsthand how they cut costs and achieve higher levels of performance on American companies. That's the kind of influence I want to participate in. ”
Glyman said the 15-second ad features Barkley buried in a heap of cost reports.
Founded in 2019, RAMP created its own name in the corporate card and expense management space. It branched out into travel, bill payments, and so on, and was finally worth $7.655 billion.
According to Lamp, Berkley's investment in fintech startups represents the NFL star's biggest private technology investment to date. According to Pitchbook, he also supports the performance of Crypto Startup Monad Labs, Fintech, Y Combinator alum sequins and beverage company X2.
The Super Bowl airs on February 9th, with the Philadelphia Eagles facing the Kansas City chief.
