Music Streamer SoundCloud has announced a partnership with Live Nation-owned Ticketmaster and Universe, allowing artists to list events in their profiles in a customized way.
The company said it would work with Ticketmaster through a new promotional program to create more promotional opportunities for artists in the future, but did not provide further details.
Artists with SoundCloud's Top Tier Pro Plan can list events on their profile pages using the self-service ticketing platform universe without leaving SundCloud. You can add or modify events to the page depending on the event you want to promote.
SoundCloud pulls artist event data from a variety of ticket platforms, including Ticketmaster and Dice.
The artist can then select the events to display on his page. Artists can also manually add links to other ticket platforms.
The platform said it will promote these events through the concert discovery widget on its SoundCloud homepage. Users can sort these events by city, time, and genre. SoundCloud will be reduced by 1% from affiliate ticket sales made through Ticketmaster links on the platform.
Previously, the audio streaming service was integrated with the Music Community Platform Advisor, the latest event for three artists. However, there was no customization feature.
Event displays and ticket sales are becoming an important area of growth for music streaming platforms. In 2022, Spotify began testing ticket sales directly from the app. According to a Bloomberg report, the company is also considering a $6/month subscription for Superfan.
