Clickup launches an improved calendar tool for managing tasks and meetings

The Productivity Platform Click-Up launches an improved calendar tool that integrates tasks, documents, chats and meetings in one place. The most interesting feature of the calendar is the blocking of the integrated AI meeting note taker and task blocking.

Clickup already had a calendar product, but it focused on managing and scheduling the team. Last year, the global supporters of A16Z and Tiger acquired calendar startup Hypercal. We are currently using some of that acquisition with our new calendar product.

The company is currently focusing on personal productivity in the workplace by putting tasks at the forefront. Users can add tasks to the queue and the calendar can automatically block time slots based on a schedule. Calendars can also dynamically adjust due dates based on schedules and changes in priority levels. Alternatively, users can manually drag and drop tasks in the calendar view to change pre-assigned priority levels.

Clickup also introduces Note Taker, which is equipped with AI and is equipped with AI. This is a meeting like Zoom's AI assistant, Circleback, Granola, or Otter. The company said it could also automatically assign action items and tasks to teammates apart from taking structured notes and transcription of meetings. In a survey conducted by the company, 71% of respondents said they were used to sending representatives or AI assistants to meetings, typically.

Clickup founder and CEO Zeb Evans told TechCrunch that the company trained AI tools to pick up various signals from people's integrations (such as GitHub assignees) and tailored prioritization algorithms accordingly.

Additionally, there is an AI assistant that can answer questions about tasks, documents, schedules, meeting notes and transcripts. Additionally, you can schedule a meeting by explaining it to your AI assistant.

Clickup is about to become an all-in-one productivity platform for users. There was already task management and project management. Now it's encountering scheduling with notes and AI. Other platforms are looking to expand their offerings in the field of productivity to become more useful for individual workers. Earlier this week, Read AI introduced Search Capillow to allow users to search meeting notes, Google Drive, 1 Drive, Calendar, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Salesforce, Jira and more. Trello from Atlassian, which focuses primarily on project management, introduced new features for its personal task organization last month.

Evans said the company focuses on bringing all these tools into one place, which would give the company an advantage over professional tools.

“We believe that all the software will converge in a few years. This is what we believe when we start click-up. We believe that the communication categories of work management and collaboration will converge together, and that's how we build our products. There's no separate app within our products. That's all one thing,” he said.
