Minimalist Light Phone III will be on sale on March 27th

Light, the manufacturer of minimalist phones designed to allow consumers to disconnect from smartphone distractions and social media, will launch its latest model, the Light Phone III on March 27th. This version of the device provides the necessary features such as call, text, navigation, hotspots, calendars and more, including support for calls, text, navigation, hotspots, calendars and more. However, the upgraded device comes with a 3.92-inch AMOLED display instead of the e-paper screen.

It also adds cameras and NFC chips for future payment tools.

First unveiled last summer, the Light Phone III can access the battery and replace the screen and USB port, providing better repairability.

The company also tried to improve the ease of use and performance of the device, making it easier to use and wider than most iPhones.

“The reality is that it retains a lot of the traits people like about e-ink screens. [with it] I feel it's a huge difference from a shiny smartphone screen,” Light co-founder Joe Holier explained last year when the phone was first introduced.

As before, customers can choose whether to use their unlocked devices as their main phone or simply as a backup of the time they want to disconnect without losing access to important tools to navigate modern life.

Light sells its own data plans starting at $30 per month for 1 GB of data.

However, the Light Phone III upgrade will increase the price a little. Like older E-ink devices, instead of $299, the Light Phone III is available for $599 for a limited time.

The price will later rise to $799, the website says.
