To make AI DJs feel more interactive, Spotify updates this feature to allow users to request music using music commands and change the mood of their playlists. The company is deploying this feature, initially supported in English only, but is supported in more than 60 markets with premium subscribers.
Previously, users could only listen to AI DJ play songs with comments added between specific tracks. Now this feature is becoming more interactive.
Users can instruct AI DJs to change mood and genre, or to play tracks from specific artists.

To use AI DJ, you can enter “DJ” in the search bar, then press the DJ button at the bottom right to make the request via voice commands. If you want to change the feel of your playlist without making a specific request, you can quickly press the DJ button.
Spotify first launched its AI DJ feature in the US and Canada in February 2023. The company later deployed it globally in August 2023. Last year, the music streaming company added support for Spanish-speaking AI DJs.
The company's other large AI features allow users to create playlists using text prompts.
