The feud between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump may be bad for the Magazine Camp, but it has proven to be beneficial for X, which has seen a surge in engagement over the past 24 hours. According to new data from Sensor Tower, the app, previously known as Twitter, has skyrocketed the top charts of the US App Store, landing at its 23rd total spot on June 5th.
X also saw the average rank of No. 58 over the past six months.
Ranking changes can be affected by increased downloads and engagement with X applications.
Meanwhile, X's rankings on Google Play in the US have similarly risen, up about 20 spots from the previous seven days average and 16 spots from the average.
Sensor Tower estimates that the total number of Active users of X's US mobile app increased by 6% on June 5th.
Specifically, the company found that active US mobile app users rose 54% compared to the past seven days on X from 2pm to 6pm on June 5th.
Trump's own social network, Truth Social, benefited from the feud as the president shared his thoughts with his followers about Musk. Compared to the past seven days, active users of US mobile apps for Truth Social have increased by over 400%, Sensor Tower's own panel shows.
However, X is much larger than Truth Social, Sensor Tower notes, as it has 100 times more US mobile app users than Trump's social networks.
Both apps saw a 90-day high for the number of active users of the US mobile app from 2pm to 6pm.
X continues to increase its ranks in the wake of Trump's insanity split. At the time of writing, this app is the 19th top free iPhone app in the US app store. Truth Social is ranked 14th in the social networking category, but is below 150 No. 150 overall on the free iPhone app charts in the US app store.
