On Monday, Bluesky announced three updates to enhance notifications, allowing users to personalize their experiences while organizing their notification centers and reducing unnecessary alerts.
Updates include the ability to receive activity notifications for a particular account, as well as the option to adjust notification settings to control which alerts you receive. For example, users can choose to notify them only when a particular account responds.
Bluesky users can now navigate to Settings and Notifications to customize alerts for a variety of interactions, including new followers, likes, replies, mentions, quotes, reposts, and more. There is also a “all other” option that covers general notifications, such as when someone joins via a starter pack or validation alert.
Each option can be customized to follow or apply to all accounts only, or can be disabled completely.
Additionally, users can now receive notifications when someone reposts or reposts content they have shared. This feature is especially useful for people who primarily redeliver posts, rather than creating original content.
Bluesky said the previous “priority notification” feature has been replaced. This feature allowed users to filter notifications and receive updates only from the accounts they followed. To achieve the same result, users will need to change replies, mentions, and citation notifications to “Only those you follow.”

The new activity notification feature is similar to what you'll find on platforms like X and Threads, so you can choose to notify users whenever your account posts something new or responds to a post.
To enable this feature, go to your profile and tap the bell icon next to the next button to receive a notification whenever your account publishes a new post. There is also another option for reply notifications.
Users can manage activity notifications in their settings and remove accounts from the list if they do not want to receive updates.
One warning is that your account can completely disable this feature. This means that users may not be able to turn on activity notifications for all accounts they need to follow. Account owners can also enable activity notifications only for those who follow.
