Tiktok adds new features to the app, allowing songwriters to highlight their work. These features are rolled out in beta, and include new tabs in the “Songwriter” label and profile to showcase your musical work. This helps songwriters sell better to potential clients.
The company said a limited number of publishing partners and songwriters will have access to the new label and music highlights section. Songwriters and publishers who want to be part of the program must now join the waitlist.
Tiktok said he has researched over 870 songwriters and interviewed their bunch to understand their needs on social media in relation to building profiles and creating monetization opportunities. The company also pointed to an independent investigation. This shows that over half of social media use social media to raise their profiles to do that using Tiktok. The app owned by Byted said the results of these studies have facilitated the decision to build these features.

“We are committed to supporting Tiktok songwriters, so we have built these tools to celebrate and elevate the songwriters and their work on their platform.”
“Tiktok is unique in its ability to provide songwriters with a way to highlight musical pieces along with their content, telling stories about their music, skills and lives, helping them develop their viewers in Tiktok, as hundreds of thousands of artist creators have already done.”
In particular, Spotify has released features so that songwriters can highlight their work for years. Last year, Tidal not only highlighted the songwriter's work, but also launched a tool that tracks loyalty and manages work that has songwriting credits.
Tiktok last year decided to close the music streaming service Tiktok Music, but it remains important for users to discover new music and artists to promote the track. Earlier this year, the company released Tiktok for artists, allowing artists to monitor campaigns and track performances.
