Chrome for iOS allows you to easily switch between work and personal Google accounts

On Monday, Google announced that it will introduce a new feature that will allow iOS users to easily switch between Chrome jobs and personal Google accounts. Previously, iOS users had to sign out of their Google account completely, then log in to another account, and repeat this process every time they accessed another account.

“In many cases, people use their mobile devices for both work and personal tasks, so they need to sign in and out with various Google accounts,” the company wrote in a blog post. “To simplify this experience while enhancing security, Chrome on iOS offers seamless account switching with data isolation for managed accounts.”

When a user signs in or switch to a Chrome Work Google account, browsing related to your organization is retained separately from other browsing on your device. Local data and content, including tabs, history and passwords, stay only within the managed account browsing experience. Google says this is ideal for both end users and IT admins.

The update, Google says, is that many organizations are away from their company's mobile phones. This means that employees often need to access company resources from their personal mobile phones or computers. Google says that the improved account switching experience and data segregation will allow businesses to “enable employees to use devices of their choice.”

Once a user signs in or switches to a managed account, they are presented with an onboarding screen explaining how to isolate managed account browsing and how to process your organization's data.

Organizations can maintain control and determine how existing browsing data will be processed when users first sign in or switch to a managed account. When a user switches to a managed account, they are notified that they are in the managed experience.

Google also announced that it incorporates more advanced security features that IT can implement.

Chrome Enterprise's reporting capabilities are now extended to both Android and iOS. This allows organizations to send important data related to security events to the Google Management Console, Chrome Logs, or SIEM of their choice. According to Google, this allows teams to make more informed decisions about overall security.

Google also provides URL filtering to IOS, allowing organizations to access prohibiting Genai sites at the category level, such as blocking employees, and redirect them to approved corporate services.
