Location-Tracking App Life360 today announced that it is adding new notifications to its app. This allows users to let them know that friends and family members will not arrive at a specific location at a specified time. This feature is intended to help users keep track of someone's location at all times to see if they have safely reached a location.
Life360 said it will launch new no-show notifications during the return season to help reduce parental stress about attending school. The company said, “Where are you? Text.
To activate this feature, you can go to the person you want to set up an alert, tap on your profile, then tap the “Set No Show Alert” option.
After that, if you don't get to that location on time, you can set the location and time to get a one-time notification. You can also repeat these alerts by tapping Repeat and selecting the day of the week.
This feature allows for a few minutes of grace time from the set time, then the alerts are turned off.
“Although adjustments are generally the best concern for families, this is especially true during busy school seasons. In fact, the download of the new Life360 app actually peaks in the weeks leading up to the first day of school.”
“There were no show alerts to provide parents with peace of mind and alleviate the need to constantly check in where their children are, a tool to encourage trust to help families get to where they need it.
Life360 discussed parent-child use cases, but stated that anyone in the family can set an alert to someone else if location sharing is turned on. The company added that anyone in their family can turn off location sharing at any time.
The new No-Show feature will be rolled out to all US members today and will be available to international members in the coming weeks.
