Created at Google event Wednesday, the company announced a personal health coach that drives a new AI built with Gemini coming to Fitbit. The tech giant says the new personal health coach is one fitness trainer, sleep coach and wellness advisor.
Google is set to roll out a preview of Personal Health Coach as part of Fitbit Premium in October with a redesigned app available on the latest Fitbit trackers, Fitbit smartwatches and Pixel Watches.
Personal Health Coach will learn your preferences when you share them and also take into account your real-time metrics from your Fitbit or Pixel Watch. Additionally, you can retrieve information from a smart weight scale or glucose monitor.

The new AI coach allows users to create custom routines after chatting about their goals, preferences and equipment. AI coaches build a personalized fitness plan with training suggestions and targets. When you train, your coach adjusts your workout plans based on real-time data and insights to achieve your goals.
For example, if you wake up due to low preparation for an insomnia night, your coach will suggest changes to your weekly plan to help you recover.
If your life gets in the way of your weekly plans, you can connect with your AI coach and coordinate your plans for advice. For example, if you hurt your back, you can tell your coach to adjust your workout.

Additionally, AI coaches will look at your sleep and give you insight into how to improve the quality of your sleep over time. Google points out that new advanced algorithms will allow AI coaches to better understand how long and stages users sleep. AI coaches also help users determine the amount of sleep they actually need by creating personalized schedules that adapt to their daily activity levels.

Google points out that users can ask AI coaches to get personalized science-backed answers. For example, they could ask something like, “Should I get extra sleep or exercise tomorrow?” Or, “What is the best exercise for weight loss?”
The new AI coach lives in a redesigned Fitbit app. Google says it has been reconsidered as the core of Coaching and AI. The redesigned app includes more intuitive data visualization, improved syncing, dark mode and more.
On Wednesday, Google announced that it will bring NBA star Stephen Curry as a “performance advisor” to provide feedback to Tech Giant products.
