Last year, Amazon introduced an AI-powered generation feature that allows sellers to quickly create product listings by entering just a few words about their products. The company is currently making it easier for sellers to create listings if their products are already listed on their website.
The e-commerce giant's new tool uses AI to parse details from product URLs on other sites to create Amazon listings. This feature is rolling out in English to US sellers
“In addition to generating listings using sparse amounts of text or images, we are launching a feature that allows sellers to easily leverage their existing listings by simply providing a URL to Amazon. “Automatically parsed by AI-based generation capabilities, allowing you to seamlessly create high-quality, engaging products for your Amazon store,” the company said in a blog post.
Last October, Amazon rolled out a tool for advertisers to generate backgrounds through text prompts. At the time, the company said that an item's contextual background could increase click-through rates by 40% compared to a white background.
In its latest announcement, Amazon said more than 100,000 sellers have tried out the generative AI tool. An even more interesting statistic the company mentioned was that sellers have an 80% chance of accepting an offer from his AI-powered tool.
Other companies are also dabbling in AI-powered tools related to products for advertisers and retailers. Last year, Google launched tools related to product images, and eBay introduced the ability to generate listings from product images. Earlier this year, Shopify launched its own AI-powered product image editor.
