In a splashy Time Magazine op-ed published this summer, HuffPost founder Arianna Huffington and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman talk about AI-powered assistants that promote healthier lifestyles. announced Thrive AI Health, a venture company with the goal of building With support from Huffington's mental wellness company Thrive Global and OpenAI Startup Fund, Thrive AI Health is building an “AI health coach” that provides personalized advice on sleep, eating, fitness, stress management, and “connection.” Huffington and Altman write. .

It's been a few months now, and Thrive AI Health's assistant is looking pretty well developed.

TechCrunch spotted a demo of a minimally viable version of the Thrive AI Health product on the company's official website. Although mostly non-functional, the demo has a working UI similar to chatbots such as OpenAI's ChatGPT. Suggest prompts like, “Can you analyze my sleep patterns?” and “What was I?” [sic] “What was your heart rate last week?” and provides fields for personal health information such as age, weight, and medical conditions.

Thrive AI Health has been unusually quiet since its announcement four months ago. The company's CEO, DeCarlos Love, hasn't posted on X since July. Thrive AI Health has also kept its engagement with the press to a minimum beyond opening sign-ups for its beta program.

In an October press release, subscribers of Function Health, a premium personal health management platform, will be able to use Thrive for “hyper-personalized behavior change recommendations” and “real-time guidance tailored to your personal health status.” It is stated that data will be able to be shared with health coaches. Select a Pattern if desired.

Thrive AI Health, which claims to be hiring on its website, has fewer than 10 employees, according to LinkedIn.

As we announced in July, Thrive AI Health is the latest in a long line of efforts in the tech industry to create health-focused apps with AI-driven personalization. Many face difficult business, technical, and regulatory hurdles. Altman and Huffington's involvement increased Thrive's importance. However, it is certain that scrutiny will be strengthened.
