Over the past few years, developers have been complaining more and more about paying Apple or Google about App Store or Play Store Distributions. App makers often say it makes it difficult for both companies to make money outside of the system. New York-based app revenue management platform Adapty wants to change it with a new product called Funnelfox.
The idea behind Funnelfox is simple. It helps app makers create quizzes and experiences on the web to attract or mount customers. Also, when customers pay, they get a link to download the app. This means that app makers do not have to pay up to 30% of their App Store tax.
“A year ago I found out that I chatted with top customers of revenue tracking products and built an acquisition funnel internally, which means I'm attracting big customers through the web.
Adapty has been working with a closed set of over 100 customers for over a year, trying Funnelfox. The company said it has tracked revenue of $20 million at this stage, with customers double their revenue compared to direct revenue from in-mobile purchases.
Funnelfox has a drag and drop tool to build quizzes to attract customers. It also has an AI component that allows you to suggest a variety of questions based on the App Store or Play Store links in your app.
A startup has two core parts of business. It's an SDK that helps app makers with subscriptions and a platform for marketers to target audiences and understand the lifelong value of their customers. Funnelfox is the latest version of its suite. Customers can use Funnelfox separately from Adapty and use another app revenue tracking solution, such as RevenueCat.
Funnelfox works on a revenue sharing basis, and the company is reducing user acquisition. Adapty Plans Funnelfox's tiered pricing, but did not specify exact details.
Adapty raised $2.5 million in capital. Davydov said the company is profitable. Startups aren't actively looking for funding, but they can explore funding.
The company serves 10,000 applications and tracks revenues of $1.2 billion a year. This is up from 2,500 apps tracked in 2022. Davydov said the company is growing consistently in terms of both the number of apps being tracked and revenue.
Startups want to add AI to their products. With Adapty, we want to use AI to enable app makers to create payment screens that offer better conversion rates by suggesting designs and rates.
