As part of Amazon's new AI-powered Alexa+ assistant, Tech Giant has announced that it will launch two new features designed for children, called “Alexa and Explore With Alexa” and “Stories With Alexa.” did. The ability to take advantage of Alexa's new AI capabilities will be available to Amazon Kids+ subscribers.
The company demonstrated the new feature at a New York press conference, noting that it was designed to help children explore fun topics and encourage imaginative thinking.
The new Explore feature allows children to ask questions such as “Can plants talk to each other?” Or they can ask: “Roses are red and grow in buds. True or false?”
With Alexa stories, children can ask their voice assistants to generate stories based on prompts. For example, a child can ask Alexa+ to “create a story about a bearded dragon playing the saxophone.”
“Alexa not only answers questions and tells stories, but she unleashes her imagination,” said Mala Segal, Amazon's director during the event. “She engages them in new ways through natural conversation and rich visuals.”
Amazon Kids+ costs $5.99 per month for Amazon Prime members and $7.99 per month for non-Prime members. The subscription service allows children to access books, videos, games and apps. Available for children aged 3 to 12.
