What's worth $11 billion and wants to go to Mars to collect rocks? NASA's rock collection mission to Mars was expected to cost $11 billion and take a long time. That means the U.S. space agency is opening its doors to more input, and that means startups are looking at opportunities that are truly out of this world.
But that's not all that's happening. Today's stocks episode focuses on startups in general. That meant we also got to talk about Two Chairs' recent big Series C, Quilt's heat pump business and financing, and some IPO updates. We expect more of his IPOs to follow after Mr. Ibotta and Mr. Rubrik exit.
Today's program also featured venture capital news. Bay Bridge Ventures is raising his $200 million climate change fund. Given LP's growing interest in climate technology in general, the company has a lot of great companies. Additionally, the SpaceX alumnus is starting his own new VC firm, which we covered.
Finally, a huge and shockingly large new fund from a16z worth $7.2 billion. We broke down the breakdown on our podcast, and the short answer is that the venture slowdown doesn't seem to be stopping venture companies from getting that golden touch when it comes to raising capital. Press play and enjoy!
