Apple's AI plans go beyond the already-announced release of Apple Intelligence for iPhones, iPads, and Macs, as the company is also working to bring these features to its Vision Pro headsets, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
This isn't a particularly surprising move: if Apple Intelligence (a suite of features that includes an improved Siri, proofing tools, and custom emoji) is key to Apple's future, why isn't it available in all of Apple's latest products? But while there's a lot to like about the Vision Pro, it's still a very expensive device that's (for now) only available to a select few.
Apple Intelligence won't be released on Vision Pro this year, Gurman said, and Apple's main challenge here is to rethink how features will look in mixed reality, rather than on a MacBook or iPhone screen.
Speaking of selling the Vision Pro, Gurman reports that Apple will also be making changes to how it demos the headset in stores, adding the ability for potential buyers to watch personal media on the Vision Pro, and changing the headband from a solo loop to a dual loop for added comfort.
New Apple rumors also came from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said that his latest supply chain audits suggest the company plans to mass-produce AirPods with infrared cameras by 2026. The new AirPods could support new spatial audio experiences and gesture controls when used with Vision Pro.
