Attentive.ai, a U.S. startup building vertical software for landscaping and construction services, raises $7 million in new funding round as it aims to power AI-driven services and expand to more businesses has been procured.

The Series A round, led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, follows a previous $5 million seed investment, with participation from Attentive.ai's existing investors Peak XV's Surge and InfoEdge Ventures . Additionally, Mumbai-based investment firm Tenacity Ventures has participated through a secondary investment.

Landscaping and outdoor services primarily rely on manual measurements, which incur labor and operational costs. Before a project begins, whether it's field measurements or pavement maintenance, companies spend hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours estimating costs, appropriate materials, and time needed. Inaccurate estimates can sometimes lead to overbidding or underbidding, which can impact your revenue goals. As the real estate industry grows, landscaping and outdoor service companies are seeking technology-driven solutions to increase efficiency and reduce operating expenses. Introducing Attentive.ai to address these needs using AI and computer vision.

Founded in April 2021 with a specific focus on North America, the Delaware-based startup with offices in Noida, India, is an end-to-end startup with AI-based workflows that brings automation to landscaping and construction companies. We provide an end business management platform. The platform is already used by major industry players such as Juniper, US Lawns, Beary Landscaping, Greenscape, Nanak, and East Coast Facilities to help companies save time and use automated in-situ measurements with Automeasure to It helps you bid effectively on contracts. This automation tool targets services such as landscaping, paving, facility maintenance, and snow management.

Businesses using Attentive.ai's Automeasure can use an interface similar to Google Maps to obtain measurements for properties such as commercial properties, retail chains, and housing associations. From there, you can search for a specific property address, define property boundaries based on the address, and receive a quote. requirements. Additionally, the tool allows users to manually upload blueprints as PDFs, allowing the software to track and determine the amount of materials needed based on site size and other parameters. The tool also allows companies to transfer all start-up payments for existing construction work. Additionally, the startup offers a dedicated onsite assistance app that can be installed on mobile or tablet devices, allowing operations teams to add notes to sitemaps by geotagging site data, and allowing ground staff to add notes to site maps in real-time. Make your data accessible. Working hard.

In addition to Automeasure, Attentive.ai has its flagship cloud-based business management software for landscaping and construction companies. Called Accelerate, it automates sales processes and operational workflows, provides access to production planning with after-hours alerts and live sales pipeline tracking, and prevents ghost attendance. This software is also integrated with Aviation and Blueprint Takeoff.

“In the past, companies would go out on site and measure the site, go into the site with a measuring wheel and measure the entire site. It used to take hours or days. All you have to do is enter the address of your site. Computer vision will process all available aerial photos of that site and provide you with the data… We also help generate various properties and jobs that your company needs to do. We also have AI-based automatic scheduling,” he said in an interview with Attentive.ai.

Dhawan co-founded the startup along with Rishabjit Singh (CTO) and Aishwarya Maurya (VP of Product Strategy) to solve some of construction and outdoor services businesses' most pressing concerns through software that helps enhance sales and operations. Did.

Previously, Attentive.ai focused on the landscaping industry. But with an influx of new funding, the startup expanded its focus to construction operations and began targeting general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in an industry thought to be worth more than $3 trillion through a tool called Beam AI. Ta. After receiving blueprints from users, you can automate tracing to provide multiple construction estimates at the same time. On the backend, the startup has a quality assurance team that reviews automatically generated quotes.

Attentive.ai is one of the few startups bringing automation to landscaping and construction jobs, but the industry has had some competitive solutions for some time. These include Aspire and LMN in the landscaping space, Bluebeam and StackCT in the construction space, and Go iLawn and PropertyIntel in the real estate measurement space. Nevertheless, Dhawan told TechCrunch that the startup has an AI-based DNA and is a deep-tech AI services company, whose team includes backgrounds in fintech mapping and insurance. .

“We come from an AI-based background and our strength is in computer vision, but these companies don’t have that technology DNA,” he said.

The startup also has the advantage of offering 24-hour customer support from India, which the co-founders believe is “cost-effective and reliable.”

Attentive.ai hopes to use the funding to expand its go-to-market team in the U.S. and hire more people, increasing its headcount to 160 people. Five of them are based in the US and the rest are in India. Additionally, the startup plans to use some of the new capital for product development.

“Attentive’s innovative technology leverages Vision AI to drive the disruption of old economy industries such as outdoor field services and construction. Organizations in these sectors are hungry for technology solutions that increase business efficiency. Mr. Siva and his team are highly committed to meeting the needs of our customers, and their joy was evident when speaking with them,” said Nikhil Marwaha, Senior Executive Director, Vertex. he said in a prepared statement.

With annual recurring revenue of $4 million, the startup has more than 500 corporate customers in the U.S. and Canada, including approximately 300 landscaping companies, 100 pavement maintenance companies, and 100 construction companies. be. We aim to add more customers by enhancing our products and marketing.
