In early 2023, David Petrou, a well-known engineer and founding member of both Google Goggles and Google Glass, made an incredible move. After more than 17 years at the company, he set out to launch his own startup. “We were seeing how fast technology is changing, but we felt there were certain ideas that are most often investigated in the startup context,” Petrou told TechCrunch. His ultimate idea was to build Continua, a consumer-oriented company that uses AI agents to enhance collaboration and interaction with SMS, iMessage and Discord group chats. “A simple way to think about it is that…
Just two years after its launch as a competitor on Twitter (now X), Meta's threads have surpassed 400 million active users (MAUS) per month. “A few weeks ago [there are] Over 400 million people are active on threads every month,” Moseli wrote. “It's been quite a ride over the last two years. It started out as a silly idea to compete with Twitter and evolved into a meaningful platform that encourages public exchange of perspectives. I'm grateful to everyone who has created this place today. There's so much to do from our side. The new milestone means that threads can…

To use the app, you effectively “load” one of the tapes laid out on the screen by selecting the year video to display. The video is labeled what appears to be…
Google is rolling out a new feature called “priority sources” for the US and India. Enabling this feature means that you'll be able to see more content from sites you like, the company says. When users search for a specific topic, a “Star” icon appears next to the Top Story section. You can tap on that icon to search for them and start adding sources. Once you have selected a source, you can update the results…
