Discord announced Wednesday it is experimenting with a new virtual reward system aimed at encouraging more users to become involved in interactive advertising. This new feature, called “Orbs,” comes right after the company preparing for a potential IPO. Users can earn orbs by completing the Quest in Quest. This will allow advertisers to play the game by rewarding virtual items by watching product videos and playing games. LexisNexis Risk Solutions is a data broker that collects and uses consumer personal data to help paid business customers detect possible risks and fraud, and discloses data breaches that affect more than 364,000 people. In a filing with the Maine Attorney General, the company said that a violation dated back to December 25, 2024, allowed hackers to retrieve confidential consumer personal data from third-party platforms used for software development. LexisNexis did not name the platform. The stolen data can vary, but includes name, date of birth, phone number, postal and email address, social security number, and driver license number. It…
Telegram attacked Elon Musk's partnership with AI company Xai, distributing the latter chatbot Grok via Telegram, and integrated it into the apps available on the chat app platform for a year. Xai will pay $300 million in cash and stocks to the chat app as part of the transaction, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov said Tuesday. Instacart announced Wednesday that Chief Business Officer Chris Rogers has been appointed as the company's new CEO. The appointment will take effect on August 15th. Rogers will also be taking part in the Instacart board of directors. The announcement comes weeks after Instacart CEO Fidji Simo shared that she will step down to join Openai as CEO of the application. Shimo will chair the Instacart board of directors. In his role as Chief Business Officer, Rogers oversaw Instacart retailer relationships and expansion, advertising sales and R&D, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, Instacart business and Instacart Health. Tuesday's Opera revealed a new browser called Opera Neon, focusing on AI workflows and performing tasks on your behalf, including shopping, filling out forms, coding. The browser is currently behind the waitlist, but the company said it needs to subscribe to use once a user releases. Price details have not been revealed. Humain, a state-run AI company from Saudi Arabia, is set to launch Humain Ventures, a $10 billion venture fund investing in startups in the US, Europe and Asia. Humain is discussing its plans with US companies such as Andreessen Horowitz, Openai and Elon Musk's Xai, and is also exploring contracts with US companies to sell stakes in their data center operations, the report said.
