Slate Auto, which came out of stealth mode earlier this year, has raised $700 million so far with amazing, and surprisingly affordable customizable electric trucks. But it quietly raised a $100 million Series A round in 2023 long before the EV startup broke the cover. Fortnite Maker Epic Games has settled an antitrust lawsuit against Samsung, according to court filings. The incident, filed last September, accused Samsung of working with Google to block rival app stores on Samsung phones by default. “Following the parties' argument, they are dismissing the trial against Samsung,” Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said in an X post. “We are grateful that Samsung addresses Epic's concerns,” he added. The epic spokesman declined further comment, pointing out Sweeney's post. Samsung and Google did not respond to TechCrunch's request for comment. On Monday, Bluesky announced three updates to enhance notifications, allowing users to personalize their experiences while organizing their notification centers and reducing unnecessary alerts. Updates include the ability to receive activity notifications for a particular account, as well as the option to adjust notification settings to control which alerts you receive. For example, users can choose to notify them only when a particular account responds. Jack Dorsey, Block CEO and Twitter co-founder, wrote in a Sunday night X post that he created an app called Bitchat over the weekend (probably a combination of the words “bit” and “chat” rather than other words). Bitchat is a messaging app that operates over a Bluetooth mesh network, allowing users to send messages without Wi-Fi or receiving cells. Market Intelligence Provider According to new data from SigraceWeb, Instagram threads are closer to top competitor X in terms of mobile app users. In June 2025, Threads mobile app for iOS and Android had 115.1 million active users, representing 127.8% growth from the previous year. X reached 132 million active as its growth fell 15.2% year-over-year. By comparison, decentralized social network Bluesky grew significantly 372.5% year-on-year as of June, but daily active users around the world continue to be fairly small. According to an information report, Tiktok is developing a new version for our users ahead of the expected sales of the app to investors groups. The company is reportedly planning to launch a new app on September 5th, but existing apps will stop working in March next year. The timeline could shift, the report notes. Ingram Micro, a US technology that distributes giants and managed service providers, said on Monday that ransomware attacks are the cause of the ongoing outage. The hack began on Thursday, and many of the company's website and its network have since gone down. Late Saturday, the company said in a simple statement that it could start processing orders again as it is working to restore the system. Apple filed an appeal Monday against the EU's decision to fine the company for failing to comply with rules that require companies to allow developers to pilot users outside the App Store, according to multiple reports. The European Commission issued a fine in April, saying that Apple is not complying with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) regulations to allow developers to accept payments for apps outside of Apple's ecosystem.
