ChatGPT is now available on Windows.
Today, OpenAI announced that it has begun previewing a dedicated Windows app for ChatGPT, its AI-powered chatbot platform.
Currently available only to ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users, the app is an early version and will be released ahead of a “full experience” later this year, OpenAI said.
“The official ChatGPT desktop app lets you chat about files and photos,” OpenAI writes. “This app provides improvements to OpenAI's latest models, including access to OpenAI's newest and smartest model, OpenAI o1-preview.”

The ChatGPT app for Windows can run on most Windows 10 machines, but it has certain limitations compared to other ChatGPT clients. Voice, including advanced voice modes, is not yet supported, and some integrations with OpenAI's GPT store will not work.
Similar to the ChatGPT app for macOS, the ChatGPT app for Windows can be minimized into a small “companion” window with other apps while you work. You can upload files and photos, summarize documents, or create images via OpenAI's DALL-E 3 image generator.
