The future of work is being redefined, and TechCrunch Disrupt 2024 is the place to explore it. The recruiting landscape is changing as companies look to tap into talent from around the world, and there is a new wave of global HR startups that are enabling this change.

But questions remain. Can these new solutions replace local subsidiaries or simply fill a gap? In the era of borderless employment, understanding the dynamics of remote work, compliance, and talent management is important for founders and investors alike. Corinne Beksha, COO, Check. Marcelo Lebre, President and Co-Founder of Remote. Josh Reeves, CEO of Gusto, will take to the FinTech Stage to discuss this evolving landscape.

Corinne, Marcelo, and Josh are visionary leaders who each built a company, scaled it, and determined how to hire, manage, and pay a global team. From built-in payroll to seamless HR across borders, they are at the forefront of this revolution. We share this opportunity to gain insight into how startups can grow by rethinking what it means to work across borders and how technology enables the future of employment. I'm happy to be able to do this.

meet the speaker

Corinne Beksha, COO, Checks

Corinne Beksha leads Revenue, Operations, and General Administration at Check, where she focuses on simplifying payroll with embedded finance. Corinne brings 10 years of experience, including her time on the trading floor at Goldman Sachs and her tenure at Plaid, where she served in multiple leadership roles, including Chief of Staff to the CEO. She is an advocate for pay transparency, diversity and equity. This is evident in her leadership at Check, where compensation ranges are publicly shared to ensure everyone is paid fairly. Corinne's extensive background in fintech and passion for operational excellence make her an important voice in discussions about the future of work and fair employment practices.

Marcelo Lebre, President and Co-Founder of Remote

Marcelo Lebre co-founded Remote to tackle the very challenge he faced at GitLab: the complexity of hiring remote talent across multiple countries. Today, Remote's platform helps companies hire, manage, and pay employees in more than 75 countries, simplifying the global HR stack with solutions such as payroll, local compliance, and employer records services. Masu. Marcelo's experience as a startup advisor, CTO, and VP of Engineering informs his belief in a borderless talent pool that allows companies to hire the best candidates regardless of location. His commitment to making work accessible and scalable has propelled Remote to unicorn status with clients such as Aston Martin.

Josh Reeves, Gusto CEO

Josh Reeves leads Gusto, a company that supports more than 300,000 businesses with payroll, health insurance, human resources, and compliance. Under Josh's leadership, Gusto has grown its built-in payroll services and entered into partnerships, including a collaboration with Remote, to facilitate cross-border hiring. Josh's vision for a world where work powers life is evident in Gusto's journey to over $500 million in annual revenue and in his approach to international expansion. By supporting both local and remote talent, Gusto enables a future where companies have the flexibility to build teams that span the globe without sacrificing compliance or employee support.
