Climate change ignited the risk of LA's mountain fire -these startups want to disappear.

The climate change has increased the potential of recent Southern California's mountain fire, according to a new study published by World Weather Atrivation, a 10 -year -old climate scientist and other experts, 10 years ago.

This study happens when Los Angeles residents begin to rebuild their lives in the wake of the catastrophic fire that broke out earlier this month. The fire was caused by almost complete situations. The two years before the two years were unusually wet, boosting the growth of vegetation adapted to wild fire. This year, the climate change gave two big hits to the region. The rainy season was delayed every year, and the intense Santaana style was instigated and spread the remaining fire.

According to the survey, these extreme weather conditions have become more common, and new urgency has been added to the rapid growth group of the climate adaptation startup that wants to slow the impact of the wildfire.

Extreme weather conditions can occur once every 17 years. “This is an increase in possibilities of about 35 % compared to the 1.3 ° C cooler climate,” he wrote. “However, this trend is not linear,” they say that the frequency of the year, when fire is likely to occur, has increased rapidly in recent years.

South California is not a stranger to fire. The ecosystem has processed a normal low -strength mountain fire and evolved to prosper. However, for the first century, fire control has confused the natural administration, and in the absence, people have deeply built a fake ecosystem.

Today, these areas are known as wild and urban interfaces, or WUI, and the density of houses is complicated. Since the landscape is engraved in a small parcel, removing excess vegetation depends on individual housing owners who may not be aware that they are responsible for their work.

In other places, it is often best to introduce a predetermined combustion. This combustion means that land administrators start a low -strength fire in weather conditions to contain low -strength flames. This process helps prevent ecosystem rebalancing and accumulation of dry brushes. However, it is still difficult to introduce even a place where the prescribed combustion is possible, and it is necessary to require public support and well -trained crew.

The startup stepped into the voice. Vibrant Planet has developed a platform that uses utility and land administrators to analyze a variety of data to determine where the risk of mountain fire is highest. Later, it will help you formulate plans to alleviate risk in cooperation with various stakeholders, including landowners, conservation organizations, and groups of indigenous people.

Once the plan is in place, other startups intervene to do dirty work. A company KODAMA renovates forestry equipment for remote control, reduces forests at lower costs and reduces fuel loads that can lead to devastating mountain fire.

Another BurnBot has developed a remote machine that has been a remote work that is prescribed with relative safety of metal shrouds. Therefore, the propane torch burns when slides under the machine. Fans on the machine keep the air flushing the air into the burn room, raises the temperature of the fire, reducing smoke and remaining fire. At the rear of the machine, the roller and the watermister remain the flame and remaining fire remaining on the ground.

However, even if vegetation management and combustion are prescribed, the South California climate and ecosystem will not completely make the wildfire free. In order to minimize the risk of catastrophic fire, another slate of the startup is working to find a wildfire immediately after the crew can respond quickly.

For example, AI uses AI to automatically detect new fire by crunching various data sources such as camera, satellite images, field sensors, and emergency alerts. Google has also participated in the game and has released Firesat in cooperation with Muon Space.

And if a wildfire escapes early detection and containment, other startups, such as Firedome, are developing tools to protect homes and companies. Israel -based startups have created an AI -supporting fire defense system that fires launches filled with fire delayed agents. The automated system allows you to target hot spots that turn the flames before the fire reaches the facility, or if the remaining fire is already flying.

Land owners and managers need to be wise about how to limit their risk. There is no single solution, but it is a combination of advanced technology and traditional land management.
