Sora, one of the co-leaders of OpenAI's video generator, has left Google.
Tim Brooks, who led the development of Sora with William Peebles, announced in a post on X this evening that he is joining Google's AI research division, Google DeepMind, to work on video generation and a “world simulator.” .

The news comes as the yet-to-be-released Sora is reportedly suffering from technical issues. According to The Information, the original system released in February took more than 10 minutes to create a one-minute clip. The publication reports that OpenAI is in the process of training an improved version of Sora that can quickly create clips.
