CyDeploy wants to create replicas of companies' systems so they can test updates before pushing them out — catch it at Disrupt 2025

Companies using software often have to strike a difficult balance between patching systems as quickly as possible to prevent cyber-attacks, while also ensuring that updates do not break system operations.

That's what startup CyDeploy wants to help you with.

The company's founder, Tina Williams Koroma, explained to TechCrunch that the idea of CyDeploy is to use machine learning to observe and record the most critical systems that companies run, create replicas of them, and allow companies using CyDeploy to run tests on what she calls a “digital twin” before deploying to actual live systems.

“We record how users use applications and systems on a daily basis,” Williams Koroma said, explaining that CyDeploy can record and label what is happening on a computer screen, and that machine learning will be deployed to “interpret and learn how to automatically label it.”

And to make sure there are no hallucinations, a human is always involved: the customer's system administrator, who, in her words, “has the expertise to know what the customer is seeing, what they're expecting,” and to check that the machine learning labeling is correct.

Williams-Koroma spoke to TechCrunch ahead of the TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 conference, where CyDeploy is a Top 20 finalist in Startup Battlefield.

The benefit that CyDeploy offers is the ability to create test scripts faster, she said.

“We deploy this in a digital twin environment and have system administrators run functional test scripts that reflect normal day-to-day usage,” Williams-Koroma says. “And they can tell from there what the problem is.”

Enterprise customers can choose between using CyDeploy's large-scale language models that run within their enterprise environment to prevent proprietary data from leaving their servers, or using OpenAI's models. In this case, the information is leaked outside of the company's systems or cloud.

Williams-Koroma said that for most customers, the systems they want to use CyDeploy on will not be users' workstations, but rather servers and critical machines. “Tier 1 applications where you need to make changes quickly for security reasons, but not too quickly for operational reasons.”

To learn more about CyDeploy, check out dozens of other companies, hear their pitches, and hear from guest speakers on four different stages, attend Disrupt in San Francisco from October 27th to 29th. Click here for more information.
