AI video platform D-ID today announced the release of two new avatars for content creation: Express and Premium+.
Businesses are chasing the golden goose of creating AI avatars that are more human-like and can ease the burden of video creation for enterprise use cases in areas such as marketing, sales, and customer support. A variety of generative models make it easy to create professional-looking videos for business purposes with just a few text inputs and visual data. D-ID's new model is an effort to become more competitive in this context.
Express avatars can be trained with approximately 1 minute of video to mimic the user's head movements while speaking. Premium+ is the company's flagship model and allows you to recreate an AI avatar for your videos, complete with hands and torso, although training may require at least a few minutes of recording. The company's idea is that hand and torso movements make avatars feel more human when interacting with other users.
The company says the Premium+ model is capable of real-time interactions and may be suitable for use cases such as webinars and translation.
The company plans to leverage these avatars for enterprise use cases such as sales lead generation, customer engagement, and personalized marketing campaigns.
“We believe the best way to interact with AI models is face-to-face, which is why we are creating these new hyper-realistic avatars and natural user interfaces.” D-ID CEO Gil Perry told TechCrunch by phone.
“We also believe that businesspeople will create digital avatars of themselves. We want to ensure that these avatars are safe and that this technology is not used to mislead anyone. I want it to be built in a way that is
According to D-ID, personalized video campaigns are more effective, increasing click-through rates by 30% and conversion rates by 35%.
