Eva Ho plans to retire from her role as general partner of Fika Ventures, the Los Angeles-based seed company she co-founded in 2016.

Sources said Mr. Fika informed LPs in an email of Mr. Ho's intention to exit after the firm's current fund, Fund III, ends. Fika confirmed his transition to TechCrunch earlier this week and released a blog post mentioning the transition this morning. Fika's other founding general partner, TX Zhuo, will remain with the fund.

“Eva has decided to withdraw due to personal reasons. She trusts the existing team to take it forward,” a spokesperson for the foundation told TechCrunch.

In Silicon Valley, Ho is the founder of All Raise, a network of women investors aimed at improving deal flow for women and improving access to capital for women and underrepresented founders. He is known as one of the founding VCs of “Raise''.

Mr. Ho will maintain control of his existing investments and board seat, and will remain active with the company while managing the remainder of Fund III, which still has investment capital.

Mr. Ho is on more than four startup boards, including Backbone AI, a startup focused on data synchronization. Elementary, a humanoid robot company. FairClaims is a legal tech startup focused on disputes. Upwards is an affordable childcare platform. During her time at Fika, the firm raised more than $300 million through her three flagship funds and one opportunity fund.

Prior to joining Fika, Mr. Ho was a founding general partner at Susa Ventures, which focused on seed. She was with the company from 2013 until 2017 and helped Sousa invest in her first two funds, raising her $75 million in total.

Mr. Ho also serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including Common Crawl, an organization focused on publishing web crawl data, and the California Community Foundation, which provides grants to local organizations in Los Angeles.

Ho joins a growing list of venture capitalists leaving their current companies this year through planned or unplanned exits. So far in 2024, TechCrunch has counted more than 11 moves in VC, with the majority at the partner or general partner level.
