TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 came to Moscone West in San Francisco on October 27-29, bringing heavy batters to Builders Stage. On October 28th, three names that helped shape the modern internet are sitting in search of exclusive fireside chats about what they need to build, expand and fund startups in today's ever-changing technological environment.
Adam Bain, Dick Costolo and David Fischer are currently leading billing at 01 Advisors, a venture that invests in breakout companies such as Tipalti and Spoton. But before they helped the next generation, they were operators who ran some of the technology's most iconic companies.
Former Twitter COO Adam Bain helped transform the platform from a crude social tool into a global business. He built his Twitter sales, product and advertising operations team from scratch, increasing revenues from millions to billions in just five years.
Former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo has led the company through overgrowth, expanding its employee count by more than 400%, establishing a long-term strategy, increasing annual revenue from $28 million to $2.25 billion. Before that, he founded one of the earliest content delivery platforms, Feedburner, which was later acquired by Google.
David Fischer, former Chief Revenue Officer of Meta, was an architect of the company's global advertising business. For more than a decade, he has expanded his annual revenues from under $1 billion to over $100 billion, helping over 200 million companies connect with customers around the world. He also helped build Google's early sales engine and once worked for the US Treasury Department.
