At Google I/O 2025, the company announced new AI workspace features to be released in Gmail, Google Docs and Google Vids. Most notably, Gmail has got personalized smart replies and new inbox cleaning features. VIDS is getting a new way to create and edit content.

Gmail's personalized smart replies help you draft emails that fit your context and tone. This feature displays past emails and Google Drive details, and provides a response suggestion with relevant information. Google says this feature removes the need to dig into your own inbox and files. Personalized smart replies can be adapted to tone, whether formal or conversational.

With the new Inbox Cleanup feature, Gemini now helps you delete or archive emails that you don't need. For example, you could tell Gemini to “delete all my unread emails from feet that have been groomed since last year.”

Gmail also gets new features designed to help you quickly schedule bookings and meetings with people outside your organization. This feature makes it easy to provide time for customers and clients to book meetings and appointments. Gemini detects when you are trying to set up a meeting and surfaces new features. Google says the new features will reduce the time and effort they will spend adjusting their schedules.

All of these new Gmail features will usually be available in a few months.

Documents allow you to link any deck, data, or reports directly to Google Docs, and Gemini is only drawn from these sources when it provides writing assistance. Google says this will keep proposals focused on trustworthy content. Thus, whether you are working on a research summary or business planning, you are writing in the correct and relevant context. This new feature is generally available today.

Google has also announced that Google Vids can turn existing Google slides into videos. This feature allows you to turn your sales deck or quarterly business review presentation into a video. Google points out that Gemini can help generate scripts, narration, animations and more. This feature is usually available in a few months.

Additionally, for businesses that don't have the budget to film videos or the right spokesperson, Vids has launched AI avatars that deliver messages. After you write a script, you can choose the avatar that will present the message in a sophisticated video. Google says that the new feature can be used to create videos for onboarding, announcements, product explanators and more. AI avatars will be available on Google Labs next month.

Additionally, VIDS is getting a new “Transcript Trim” tool that automatically removes filler words such as “um” and “ah” from the video. Users can also use the new “Balanced Sound” feature to adjust the sound level across the video. Balanced Sound will generally be available next month, while transcript trim will be available in the lab in a few months.

Google also revealed that users can use Imagen 4, the latest image generation model in their workspace to create more detailed visuals. Tech Giant says this will allow users to create more detailed visuals on slides, videos, documents and more.
