Although the execution time was 110 minutes, Google was able to reference the AI a whopping 121 times during I/O in 2024 (by its own count). CEO Sundar Pichai referenced the numbers at the end of his presentation, cheekily saying the company was doing the “hard work” of calculating for us.
Of course, it's no surprise that this topic garnered so much attention, but it's still an impressive number for a presentation that is approximately 110 minutes all-inclusive.

The tech giant made some tough moves to follow, with OpenAI's final GPT announcement the day before sucking quite a bit of air out of the room at Shoreline Amphitheater. Apple is expected to announce a deal to incorporate OpenAI's technology into its products next month as part of its developer conference WWDC.
