Google continues to introduce more AI-driven features to its Workspace productivity application.

The company announced Tuesday at its Cloud Next conference in Las Vegas that Google Workspace subscribers will soon be able to use voice prompts to initiate Gmail's AI-based “writing help” feature on the go, for example. did. Additionally, Google is releasing a new feature to his Gmail for Workspace that allows you to instantly transform your rough email drafts into more polished emails.

These features will first be available to paid members. Asked about this at a press conference ahead of Tuesday's announcement, Google's Aparna Pappu said the company has “really useful and practical AI-powered products for all users, like Smart Reply and Smart Compose. “We have a long history of providing functionality.” Once we figure out how these work and get feedback from our users, we'll consider expanding them to all users. ”

Workspace, which Google says has about 3 billion users and more than 10 million paying customers, was one of the first Google services to jump on board with the AI boom.

In addition to these new AI features, Google is adding several other features to the Workspace suite. This includes, for example, spreadsheet notifications where the service sends customizable alerts when certain fields change. Additionally, Sheets now includes a new set of templates to help you get started with your new spreadsheet.

Additionally, Docs, Google's browser-based MS Word competitor, supports tabs so you can “instead of linking to multiple documents or searching Drive to find what you're looking for. Now you can organize your information within a single document. This is a nifty feature, and very useful in workflows where you copy and paste large amounts of documents into one long document.

Docs is also getting a full-breed cover image, and for larger companies using Workspace, Chat can now handle up to 500,000 members. Thanks to Google and Mio's partnership, messaging interoperability with Slack and Teams is also an option.
