At Google I/O 2025, Tech Giant has announced a new feature that will be coming to NoteBookLM, an AI-based note-taking and research assistant. Most notably, the company has released a video overview.
According to Google, users will soon be able to turn dense multimedia like Raw Notes, PDFs, and images into digestible visual presentations.
Notebooklm has been around since its launch to help users understand and interact with complex documents. With this new feature, NoteBookLM takes a more visual approach to help users understand a variety of topics and ideas.
NoteBookLM already has an audio approach to help users understand the material in an audio overview. This is the ability to provide users with the ability to generate podcasts using AI virtual hosts based on documents shared with NoteBookLM, such as course metrics and legal briefs.

Now, Google is offering more flexibility in audio overviews. This is because users can choose the ideal length for their audio summary. For example, you can choose to use the Audio Overview with the default length, or to choose whether it is long or short.
The new feature announced today is the day after Google officially released its Notebook LM app for Android and iOS. Previously, Notebooklm was only accessible from the desktop. Google is currently making its services available on the go.
The app features dark mode support as well as offline support for background playback and audio overview. The app can also create new notes and view notes that have already been created. Additionally, if you want to view a website, PDF, or YouTube video on your device, you can add it as a new source by tapping the share icon and selecting NotebookLM. Users can also view sources that have already been uploaded to each notebook.
