Instagram is testing a way to show you content from friends you might have missed. The social network has started showing unseen story highlights from users' mutual followers at the end of the story tray. The stories tray is the area at the top of your feed where you can see stories from your friends.
“We're always working on new ways for people to connect with Stories, and we're testing showing recent highlights at the bottom of the tray in small groups,” a Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch. told.
The feature was first discovered by social media expert Ahmed Ghanem.
Instagram is so crowded with Reels, sponsored posts, and more that it's easy to miss updates from people you actually follow. The social network's latest test feature is experimenting with ways to ensure you never miss out on original content from your friends and family.
Meta says users can see unseen story highlights from the past week.
Hidden story highlights only appear when you've read all the current stories in your tray. So if you follow a lot of people and don't always get to the end of the stories tray, you might not see the highlights.
Please note that this feature does not display standard stories that disappear after 24 hours, only story highlights, which are hand-picked stories that users have saved to their profiles.
