Instagram announced on Tuesday that it will now allow users globally to add multiple audio tracks to Reels.
According to the company, users can add up to 20 tracks to a single reel. To add a new track to your video, click the[ミックスに追加]Tap the option. Once you've added a track, you can trim it to include only the portion of audio you want.
“The launch of multi-track audio in Reels gives creators the ability to visually align audio with elements like text, stickers and clips, expanding their creative flexibility and enabling them to express their creativity in a way that is comfortable for them and their audience,” the company said in a post.
Instagram can attribute the overall combined track to the creator and encourage fans to reuse that unique mix.
This feature eliminates the need for creators to use a separate editor to mix multiple tracks into one and then apply it to a clip.
Earlier this month, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the platform would focus less on long-form video and more on users sending short videos to each other.
“We've found that longer videos don't mesh well with other work. If you watch a 10- or 20-minute video, you're less likely to watch your friends' content, you're less likely to engage with your friends, and you're less likely to actually send that content or that video to your friends,” Mosseri said in an Instagram Reels post.
“So we're not going to go after that business because it's part of our core identity, which is connecting people with their friends, and we don't want to undermine that by going after long-form video. We understand that's not necessarily the case with short-form video, but the potential is there.”
