LinkedIn is experimenting with a TikTok-like video feed within its app

LinkedIn is testing a new short-form video feed similar to TikTok, the company confirmed to TechCrunch on Wednesday. With this new test, LinkedIn joins a number of other popular apps, including Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and Netflix, which have launched their own short-form video feeds in response to TikTok's growing popularity.

The feed was first discovered by Austin Null, director of strategy at influencer agency McKinney. Null is the new app's navigation bar[ビデオ]We posted a short demo on LinkedIn that showcases the new feed you'll see in your tabs. When you tap the new video button, you'll see a vertical feed of short videos that you can swipe through. You can like the video, leave a comment, and share it with others. The company did not provide details about how the feed determines which videos to show users.

The newly added feature is similar to the vertical short-form video feeds seen in other apps, but whereas those feeds include a variety of content from comedy to cooking videos, LinkedIn's feed is clearly focused on career and professionalism. While you've always been able to post videos on LinkedIn, the new dedicated feed is designed to drive engagement and discovery on the platform by presenting bite-sized videos that people can quickly scroll through. .

Microsoft-owned LinkedIn said it is testing new ways for users to find relevant videos, as videos are becoming one of the formats users want to learn from experts and experts. This feature is in early testing, so most people don't have access to it yet.

The release of this new feature comes as many creators have amassed notable followings on TikTok by sharing their advice and experiences on topics such as career growth, finding work, and professional development. LinkedIn's new feed gives creators a new place to share their video content, potentially reaching a wider audience. It's also possible that LinkedIn will monetize the feed at some point in the future and encourage creators to post video content on the app.

While this feature provides new opportunities for creators, some users may feel inundated with various short-form video feeds on popular apps, so we recommend adding this new feed to your app. This may not seem like a welcome addition.
